PROTECT-CHILD
PROTECT-CHILD is a project initiated in 2024 with the aim of improving pediatric transplant outcomes through the integration of clinical and genomic data. The project is funded by the Horizon Europe research programme and will run for four and a half years.
The mission of the project is to transform pediatric transplant care, promoting an increasingly personalized medicine. At its core is the secure integration of clinical and genomic data, powered by advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, federated learning and quantum computing. These tools enhance data-driven research while ensuring privacy and compliance with EU regulations.
Biomeris’ role in PROTECT-CHILD is to develop the capsules, local platforms that serve as a container for the data collected and harmonised according to a common model. To support this process, Biomeris also takes care of the implementation of ETL processes necessary for the efficient ingestion of data. Harmonization is based on the adoption of the international standards OMOP and FHIR, thus ensuring that the information exchanged complies with the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability).
